RF MMIC Testing and Verification Engineer
Miller MMIC is seeking a highly skilled RF MMIC Testing and Verification Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing, characterization, and verification of RF and microwave integrated circuits (MMICs). This role is crucial to ensuring that our cutting-edge MMIC designs meet the high-performance standards required for a wide range of applications, including aerospace, telecommunications, and defense systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed testing and characterization of RF and microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) to verify performance specifications.
- Develop and implement test procedures and protocols for RF/MMIC components.
- Operate RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
- Analyze measurement data and compare with simulation results to validate the performance of MMIC designs.
- Debug and troubleshoot MMICs during testing to identify performance issues and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on test results and suggest design improvements.
- Support production testing and qualification of MMICs for both prototype and mass production stages.
- Generate detailed test reports, including data analysis and graphical representations of performance metrics.
- Work closely with process engineering teams to optimize testing methods and ensure quality control.
- Maintain the test lab equipment and calibration schedules, ensuring that all instruments are operating within specified limits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in RF/MMIC testing and verification.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, circuit theory, and microwave measurement techniques.
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other RF measurement tools.
- Familiarity with MMIC technologies (e.g., GaAs, GaN, SiGe) and RF testing techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using tools like MATLAB, Python, or Excel for reporting and visualization.
- Ability to interpret circuit designs and simulate performance using tools such as ADS, HFSS, or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in debugging RF circuits.
- Experience with testing MMICs for parameters such as gain, linearity, noise figure, power output, and efficiency.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with automated test systems and scripting for RF test automation.
- Experience in thermal testing and environmental stress testing for RF components.
- Knowledge of packaging and its impact on MMIC performance in testing environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to generate clear, concise test reports.
